Wheat straw as a replacement for fibreglass and recycled nylon turned into new resins for composite parts are among the latest innovations from Ford. Ford vehicles are now 85% recyclable by weight and in 2009 the company says it saved approximately $4.5 million by using recycled materials and diverted between 25 and 30 million pounds of plastic from landfills in North America alone.
